Cold / Flu / Covid-19

When to go to Ample Urgent Primary Care for Cold / Flu / Covid-19

Coughing, fever, aches and sneezing may be symptoms of a cold, flu, or Covid-19. Ample Urgent Care will test to get you the correct diagnosis and treatment you need.

Ample Urgent Primary Care is able to perform COVID-19 rapid swab testing on patients who have been exposed to COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms of the virus. Results from rapid diagnostic tests are available same-day

Why Should I Get The Rapid Test?

After exposure to COVID-19, wait between 5-7 days for rapid testing. This allows for a more accurate result and avoids a false negative. The rapid test gives patients results quicker than standard NAAT/PCR testing, which can take up to three days.

If your test returns with a Positive Result, you should begin self-isolating immediately if you have not done so already. Contact anyone you have been in close contact or proximity with to inform them to get tested. Be prepared to self-isolate for at least two weeks until you are asymptomatic and no longer contagious.

If your test results are Negative For Covid-19, continue following local health and safety guidelines. Maintain a distance of six feet from others who do not live with you, and wear a mask or other protective face covering over your nose and mouth when out in public places.

Flu shots are a great way to protect yourself against flu strains that are likely to be prevalent this year. They only take a few seconds to administer, and they can keep you and your family from missing school or work due to illness – not to mention, they protect against some of the more dangerous side effects of the flu.

We offer a wide range of common vaccinations for people of every age. For infants, we can provide regular vaccines against diseases like hepatitis B, and PCV. For adults, we offer flu shots, and tetanus shots, shingles vaccines, and many more. Contact us and let us know which vaccine you need.
