Billing Questions

Common Billing FAQs

Do I need a referral to be seen?
For urgent care visits, no referral is ever needed. For primary care or specialist services, it depends on your insurance plan type. HMO plans typically require referrals; PPO plans generally don't. Call us with your plan details and we'll advise.
What do I owe at the time of my visit?
If you have insurance, you'll typically owe your copay or coinsurance at the time of service. For self-pay patients, we collect the service fee at checkout. We accept all major credit cards, FSA/HSA cards, and cash.
Are aesthetic services covered by insurance?
Cosmetic procedures (Botox for wrinkles, fillers, laser hair removal, microneedling) are not covered by insurance and are billed as self-pay. Therapeutic Botox for migraines and Botox for hyperhidrosis may be covered by some plans - ask at consultation. Medical weight management (GLP-1 medications) has variable coverage depending on your plan.
How does Spravato® billing work?
Spravato® has two billing components: the medication itself (billed as a pharmacy benefit under Part D or your drug formulary) and the administration/monitoring fee (billed as a medical benefit). We handle prior authorization and coordinate both. For uninsured patients, the Janssen CarePath program can reduce cost to as little as $10 per session for eligible individuals.
